Fort Openings (Weather Permitting):
- The last guided tour each day begins at 3:30. There is no admittance to the Fort after the last guided tour starts.
- Guided tours are the ONLY way you can walk around inside and on top of the Fort, except for Boston Skyline Viewing...
- The Fort is open on Thursday evenings from 7:00pm until dusk in June, July and August for Twilight Skyline Viewing. Visitors for Twilight Skyline Viewing are allowed to walk around the upper level of the Fort along Fronts 4, 5 and 1 and Shirley & Winthrop Bastions (see Fort layout page) without a guided tour.
Ft. Independence is handicap accessible only on the 1st level.
